Are you looking to up your game as a nail tech this year? With the current cost of living crisis and people cutting back on non-essentials and luxuries, it is more important than ever to offer the best possible service to your clients.
Whether you’re hoping to increase your client base or upsell to existing clients, here are just some of the ways you can make improvements:
Offer a range of services
Your client base is likely quite varied, everyone is going to want something slightly different from their experience. Offering a range of services is a good way to ensure you can satisfy a variety of clients and provide them with something they are really happy with.
If you are currently only offering gel manicures, why not invest in some acrylic nail sets and train in acrylics? Or if you currently only offer manicures, why not also offer pedicures too?
Leave adequate time
One of the worst things as a customer is feeling as though not enough time was set aside for your appointment. Feeling as though you have paid for a service that was rushed and that you weren’t treated as a priority means you are unlikely to return and are even less likely to leave a positive review or recommend to a friend.
Time a few of your appointments to get an accurate idea of how long they take on average and be sure to leave some additional time in between appointments to account for runovers.
Educate
Clients are ultimately coming to you to get their nails done, however, there is nothing to stop you from enhancing this experience by educating them on how to best care for their nails post-appointment.
This could be done informally by chatting to them during their appointment, or you could create posts on your social media about how often cuticles should be oiled and the dos and don’t of caring for a manicure.
This will lead to your clients getting more out of their manicures and having more confidence in your abilities.
Reward loyalty
For many, nail appointments are viewed as a luxury or a treat. As this is the case, it is wise to reward clients who chose to stay loyal to you. There are a variety of ways that you can do this. Some of the most common are offering loyalty cards where stamps are collected at each appointment and rewards are given based on how many visits a client makes. For example, receive £5 off any treatment after 4 appointments.
Another effective way to reward loyalty is by offering referral discounts. This means that for every friend or family member, a client refers to you who has an appointment, that client receives a discount on their own treatment.
Utilise tech
With any beauty service, clients will be looking for convenience. Utilising technology to make booking an appointment as easy as possible to a great way to achieve this.
